richard

Richard makes the films. Richard started as a TV director/producer, working with comedians such as Ali G and Al Murray, and directing two series with Ruby Wax for the BBC. After making several short films, The Gigolos was his first feature. He raised the finance, then directed and produced it himself.
Punk Cinema is about achieving truth.
‘Photography is truth. And cinema is truth 24 frames a second.’
(Jean-Luc Godard)
"What’s truth in films? It’s a performance which speaks having a relationship with another human, whether based on jealousy, love, distrust, whatever.
Films aren’t by definition about truth – but a filmmaker should aspire to show the truth.
If a performance is honest, if it shows me a true human being, I’ll print it. Whether it’s funny, tragic, in- or out-of-focus, shot on film, tape, or scratched in the sand with a stick – if it’s about you and me, I’ll watch it."
tony
Tony runs the business. He adds the marketing edge to each film, so partners have a strong commercial package to take to audiences. Previously, he ran PR and marketing agencies in London.
"Punk Cinema is art and business. We make original films with commercial potential and universal appeal. We create a new story, raise the finance ourselves, get the talent, shoot the film and take it to market."
